Who operates this site

Wainscot Workshop is an independent DIY planning project operated by its site owner. Use the contact page to reach the owner or make a privacy request.

Wall dimensions and browser drafts

The planner calculates layouts, cuts and quantities on your device. It does not submit your wall dimensions or opening positions to our feedback database. Your unfinished settings are kept in this site's session storage so you can read a guide and return to the same plan in the same browser tab. A browser may retain a session when restoring tabs.

Reset replaces the draft with the example dimensions. To remove stored values entirely, clear this site's browser storage. CSV downloads are created locally and saved wherever you choose. If you use an assistant's supported browser tools to read or adjust a plan, the current plan summary and supplied changes are shared through those tools at your direction.

Messages you choose to send

The feedback and contact forms save the message, category, page path, submission time, receipt number and optional reply email address. We use them to improve the site, investigate problems, respond if a reply address is supplied, and handle privacy requests. Your message is not published on this website and is not sold or used for marketing.

Please include only details needed for your request. Wall settings are not attached automatically; any dimensions you type into a message become part of that stored message.

Spam prevention and hosting

To limit repeated submissions, the app creates a temporary code derived from the request's network address and a ten-minute time window. It does not store the raw network address in the feedback database. Expired codes are removed when the form is next used or maintenance runs.

The website and feedback database use hosting infrastructure, including Cloudflare services. Hosting and security providers may process IP addresses, request details and technical logs to deliver and protect the service. Private previews also use ChatGPT Sites access controls and sign-in. Provider security or sign-in cookies can be used even though the planner itself does not set advertising cookies. See Cloudflare's cookie information and OpenAI's Privacy Policy.

Retention and access

Feedback is intended to be kept for 90 days. The app removes older messages from the active database when a form submission is processed or scheduled cleanup runs. If the site is inactive, cleanup may be delayed. Hosting backups and provider logs can have separate retention periods. Deleting an active record may not immediately remove it from a provider backup.

Messages are available to the owner and hosting administrators with authorized database access. There is no public endpoint for reading feedback. We may retain information longer where necessary to handle an unresolved request or a legal obligation; such retention requires separate, restricted handling by the owner.

Your choices

You can use the planner without submitting a message, leave the reply email blank, reset or clear your local draft, and ask the owner to access, correct or delete a submitted message. Include its receipt number so it can be found. Depending on where you live, additional data rights may apply. The owner may ask for enough information to verify a request before disclosing or deleting a record.

This site is intended for adult DIY users. Please do not submit information about children or sensitive personal information.

External links, ads and analytics

Retailer and guide references open external websites with their own privacy practices. We do not currently run Google AdSense, third-party advertising scripts, audience analytics or affiliate tracking. If advertising or analytics is introduced, this policy and any required consent controls will be updated before those services are activated.
